Hotel Where Does The Name Come From

Hotel, an organization which makes paid accommodation available, generally on a temporary basis. Hotels habitually provide numerous guest services, for example, a restaurant, a childcare or a swimming pool. A number of hotels contain meeting rooms and conference facilities and encourage people to arrange get-togethers and conventions at their own place. No rigid rule of differentiating hotels from other motels is there, though, a Motel clearly suggests that it is intended for motorists. It simply means that it is nothing but a hotel but with first-class access to the highway network. Characteristically, motel means a hotel, made suitable for inhabitants who, for no matter what private reason, wish not to be unable to have rapid right to use from the Read the rest of this entry »

Hotel reviews: Goldstone Hall, Shropshire, England

My family is from Staffordshire very close to the Shropshire border, and for us, Goldstone Hall has always been synonymous with quality food. So when my sister recently got married, it was first choice for the venue. She and her now husband had a church wedding in our local village, then we all went to Goldstone Hall for lunch and the evening reception, with almost a third of the guests, including my partner and I, staying overnight in the hotel guest rooms. The hotel was basically ours for 24 hours – no other guests were allowed in.

The location

The hotel is located in a hamlet called Goldstone in the parish of Cheswardine. This is south of Market Drayton in the Read the rest of this entry »

Finding Discounts on Bathroom Suites

Buying a new bathroom suite can be a costly business. With the option of buying a full service suite complete with installation versus the option of buying in ‘bits and pieces’, the bathroom suite buyer is faced with a difficult decision – weighing up resources against his or her own skills and expertise when it comes to fitting bath tubs, sinks and plumbing in showers. The first place to look for a discount on bathroom suites is hardly a Read the rest of this entry »

Pros and cons of renting a condo

A few years ago, no one but the rich and famous had ever heard of a vacation condo. The places were exotic, and the prices were steep. With the advent of vacation time shares, the general public were exposed to condos as an alternative to a tent or a motel as a way to stay when on a holiday.

Developers soon realized that not everyone wanted to own a time share. They began building resort condos with an owner who would allow the condo to be rented when not in use by the owner. In many cases this amounts to 30 to 50 weeks per year in prime locations. The rentals can run from a few Read the rest of this entry »

Best destinations for a family

One of my favorite family-friendly Spring Break destinations is Wilmington, North Carolina. For three days in April 2007 my mother and I decided to explore the historic, coastal city with my two sons, Justin (14 years old) and Nicolas (10 years old), during their spring break vacation. We’ve been talking about exploring the southern east coast of North Carolina ever since we moved to the state in 1999 and finally our plans came to fruition.

Wilmington, North Carolina is located within 2 1/2 hours of the capital city of Raleigh and is within a 15-minute drive of local beaches including: Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, and Wrightsville Beach. Since we frequented The Golden Sands Motel in Carolina Beach our Read the rest of this entry »
