Here are a few basic ideas I have for decorating your living room.
First, keep the wall color(s) down. If they are to bright and vibrant, you will lose some of the focus on other parts of the room. Don’t make the color(s) to dark. This will make the living room depressing. No one wants to sit in a depressing room. If you know how to paint more than just a plain colored wall and it will work in the living room, go for it. It will make the room feel a little less formal. A living room should not feel formal. It’s to live in, not do business in.
Who has better manners: Americans or British?
If one has done any transatlantic travel between the US and the UK, it is very clear that Americans have much better manners than the British. People often forget that what they see on television is a far cry from reality. If one sees English people behaving as lovable middle-class characters on Public Broadcasting television, it doesn’t mean ordinary Brits are going to reflect the same behavior.
My travels in the UK have included visits to London, Watford, Leeds and Manchester. In every location, I found the people to be slightly more rude and coarse than Americans.
