Hotel chain reviews: La Quinta hotels – Part 1
In the past I have stayed at many La Quinta Inns and Suites and find that these hotels are satisfactory for a comfortable family experience. One big plus of staying at a La Quinta is that they accept pets. It is becoming increasingly hard to find a safe, family friendly, clean hotel that accepts pets. You must let the hotel know you have a pet and the size of the pet. They generally will book you into a room that allows easy access to areas where pets can be walked.
I have found all of the La Quinta hotels to be clean and the amenities relevant. For a regular over night stay a standard Read the rest of this entry »
No CommentsHow to deal with people who drain your energy – Part 22
The first line of attack, is to protect yourself first. Only agree to a get together, if you truly have the energy and time, to begin with.
The second thing you can do, is to have something planned you can say back to the person. For example, if the person is an emotional vampire, and wants to complain to you for hours on end without ever doing anything about the problem, plan to say, ’so, what are you going to do about it?’ Should they keep complaining, you can repeat this sentence. If you feel this is getting you nowhere, that’s when it’s time to cut the visit or phone call short. Which means, the third thing to have prepared, is Read the rest of this entry »

No CommentsPlanning for a Pet Friendly Holiday
These days many holiday venues will happily allow you to bring your pet along – a move that has been welcomed by many loving pet owners and their four-legged charges. In Australia these venues tend to be Bed and Breakfasts, self-contained cottages or apartments, Farm Stays and are likely to be located outside of the capital cities and ideal for a driving holiday. In other countries such as the USA and much of Europe they can also include many motels and hotels, often located in major cities and towns.
In fact, pet friendly holidaying is becoming a very popular travel alternative. You’ll save on boarding costs and enjoy a holiday with all members of your family. Many even allow you to Read the rest of this entry »

Tips for dealing with differing sex drives in couples
Differences in libido are a pretty common occurrence and here are a few tips
to deal with it. The first thing you want to do is address the problem by
talking to your partner about it. Too many times, a mate feels their partner
is not interested in them anymore if they are not being intimate. Reason I
know this? I’ve been there. You might be surprised to find out that your
spouse has been stressed from work, or that they are really tired and just
don’t feel up to par. Don’t get angry because they don’t feel well. Part
of a successful relationship is being patient and understanding.

Thinking of Traveling to Alaska?(part Ii)
Given the wide variety of travel options, it’s hard to be precise. If you can be flexible, you can often find a return flight from Seattle to Anchorage for around $250. Although it’s closer, flying to Juneau will cost more, from $50-100 usually–US dollars of course. From Vancouver to Whitehorse, return; expect to pay at least $200, Canadian.
• Drivers will find gasoline prices moderate in Canada and low to moderate in Alaska, thanks to the oil pipeline.
• Restaurant prices run higher everywhere; budget about 20% more than you’d need in urban Canada or the U.S. Motel and hotel costs are similar to those down south; don’t be afraid to bargain during the off or Read the rest of this entry »
No CommentsBook Review: The Art of Travel
Ever wonder why there is this niche of people that are obsessed with traveling? I’m one of them. Before I read this, I had no idea how to put my fixation into words.
“The Art of Travel” breaks it down for us. It’s organized into five distinct chapters: Departure, Motives, Landscape, Art and Return. The book is not a guide telling us how or where to travel, but an examination of the role of travel, broadly understood, in the lives and work of a few eminent artists and writers. While De Bottondoes not provide Read the rest of this entry »
